dc.description.abstract A simple and facile synthesis of functionalized [4,4,4]-propellone bislactone derivatives from Baylis-Hillman adducts via bis-alkylation of cyclic 1,3-diketones and subsequently bis-lactonization has been described. This methodology is appealing with reliability and scalability with gram scale products can be synthesized. These tricyclic compounds can be exploited for their biological activity.
