dc.description.abstract Post-consumer plastic is an enormous source of waste. The recycling process purely depends on the availability of plastic waste, infrastructure management, and the economic market. Hence, the need of the hour is timely and maximal recycling of the generated plastic waste. Plastic recycling organizations convert plastic waste into reusable goods like handbags, bricks, plastic pots, etc. However, recycling is only profitable when there is a vast amount of plastic. This necessitates transparent and effective supply-chain management to connect the recycling organizations with the end-users. Further, maximal recycling is only possible when the end-users are effectively engaged and incentivized. Therefore, we propose a Blockchain-based incentivization model through which these organizations can collect post-consumer plastics and reliably track their supply. Additionally, the global state view of the entire supply chain will extensively benefit the users and recycling organizations. It also reduces carbon footprint along the process which will significantly help society. The reward system through Blockchain can substantially interest more people to participate in the system contributing to the greater social cause of plastic waste management to promote a sustainable environment.
